Planning Success for nurse accommodation

A hospice is to benefit from new nurses accommodation and visitor facilities, as planning permission has been granted.

Esquire Developments, the award-winning housebuilder based in Longfield, worked with Demelza Hospice Care for Children to plan the facility next to its site at Bobbing. They include delivery of the new nursing accommodation, a new wheelchair-friendly parking area for up to 80 vehicles, and an outdoor event space for the hospice, alongside 30 new private homes, open spaces and ecology areas.

The homes would comprise two- to five-bedrooms, as well as incorporating a range of environmental measures, including air-source heat pumps instead of gas boilers. Improvements would also be made to road safety at the junction between Keycol Hill and Rook Lane – a locally well-known difficult junction.

The site previously had consent for 20 homes, with the revised proposals enabling sufficient development to fund the nurses accommodation.
