Over £16,000 raised for the ellenor Hospice
Fundraising walk a positive development for hospice.
A hospice is to benefit from a more than £16,000 donation after a local housebuilder took part in an annual fundraising walk.
ellenor Hospice in Gravesend had invited members of the public to join its annual Twilight Walk to help raise funds for its palliative care. A regular supporter of the hospice, Esquire Developments in Longfield signed up its whole team to take part, so far raising £7,787 for the charity. This is now being match-funded by the company.
David Braddon, Director of Esquire Developments, said: “When we first signed up to the Twilight Walk we set ourselves a fundraising target of £3,000, so we are really pleased by how much more we have managed to raise. It really means a lot to us that our friends, families and suppliers have got behind us and been so generous with their donations to ellenor.”
The only hospice in Kent to offer services to both adults and children, ellenor provides pain and symptom relief, palliative care, end of life care, respite, bereavement support and emotional and spiritual care.
More than 1,000 people took part in the Twilight Walk – which has both 8km and 12km routes – at Cyclopark, Gravesend, on Friday, 24th September. To find out more about the event, visit https://ellenor.org/twilight
